Editorial Standards & Sources
Guidelines governing technical documentation, manufacturer claims verification, and transparent correction procedures.
Source Grounding & Verification Protocol
Rig & Rail grounds all content in published technical specifications, structural engineering manuals, user assembly blueprints, and direct seller documentation. Because we do not run a physical destructive-testing laboratory, we delineate precisely between what is documented by manufacturers and what must be verified by the builder upon arrival.
1. Blueprint & Spec Audits
We inspect fastener slot dimensions (e.g., 8mm slot vs 10mm slot in 40-series extrusions), wheel base mounting plate thickness, and stated metal alloys (e.g., 6063-T6 versus mild steel sheet).
2. Direct-Import Listing Audits
For direct-factory and white-label hardware, we cross-reference multiple distributor listings to verify whether controller boards run standard Windows direct-input or require proprietary unsigned drivers.
Prohibited Claims
- No Fabricated Testing: We never publish simulated Newton-meter torsional rigidity scores or claim hands-on lab stress testing that was not physically completed.
- No Marketing Superlatives: Phrases like "completely zero flex," "bulletproof," or "indestructible" are barred. All structural systems flex under sufficient load arms.
- No Invented Credentials: We present our work as technical specification synthesis and mechanical structural research, not credentialed academic engineering panels.
Correction Policy
When a dimensional metric, hole pitch pattern, driver requirement, or freight estimate is identified as inaccurate, we issue an inline correction noting the previous value, the updated data, and the revision date.
Corrections are applied directly to the affected buying guides and documentation tables to prevent misleading builder assembly planning.
